RYLA aims to:
* Demonstrate Rotary's respect and concern for youth
* Provide an effective training experience for selected youth
and potential leaders
* Encourage leadership of youth by youth; and
* Recognize publicly young people who are rendering service to
their communities.
What: RYLA is a 3 1/2 day program for "Young people that
are Jr/Sr's in high school are chosen for their leadership potential
(to) attend an all-expenses-paid , camp and workshop to discuss
in seminars; leadership skills and to learn those skills through
practice ."
Where: The Pacific Lutheran University
(PLU) Campus,
located in Tacoma , Washington.
When: A Weekend in March each year.
Who: The Bremerton Rotary will select 4 Bremerton High School
students (Juniors), who have been nominated by their principal
or counselor. Participated in a thurough interview by the members
of the Bremerton Rotarys interview committee, and were selected
out of a group of as many as 15 of their student peers.
The Bremerton Rotary is very proud of these Bremerton High School
students.
