Martine Salomonsen, our 2005-2006 exchange student was from Honefoss, Norway.

As a Senior At Bremerton High School. Martine enjoyed ROTC and Orientiering at BHS. Getting to march in the armed forces day parade as a ROTC cadet and going to the Orientiering National Competition in North Carolina (Placing to 2nd - wow).

She attended her first "Homecoming," participated in Halloween and of course had her first american Christmas and New Year holidays. As her teniour came to a close, she attended her first Prom.

We loved our time with Martine. Hurry back!

Brett Aho our Bremerton High School, (2005-2006) outbound exchange student went to in Winthur, Switzerland.(letter to the "Sun")

Dec 20, 2005 Report to Bremerton Rotary by Tom Long:

From Karolina Hirvinen (from Finland 2004-2005)

"Hello there,
This is Karolina, the ultimate, stubborn Finn you bravely kept at your house back in time.

It's funny when I think about how strongly I wanted to come back home from the States. I realized so quickly how lovely the year abroard had been for me.

My opinions about things had changed so much in my year - I did not know that I had really grown a lot. I am not at the same level with anyone else here. Everybody is so boring and all the places are so small."

Her note goes on to say that she "hopes to be able to travel and expeerience foreign cultures when she finishes school.

"and wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year."
