Sarka Benedova, our 2006-2007 "Inbound" exchange student from Krems, Czech Republic.

As a Senior At Bremerton High School. Enjoys playing "Sax" in the school band, went to her first Homecoming game and dance. She has charmed everyone who has met her.

Sarka and our Bremerton High School Jazz Quartet. Hot sounds in Bremerton Rotary Jazz Cafe. Sizzling hot.

Melea Martin, Our outbound exchange student for this year (2006-2007) is in Germany. She is Junior at Bremerton HIgh School. Her father is a Trident missile technician and her mom is a 4th grade teacher at Kitsap Lake.
Malea Nichole Martin was born in Dunoon, Scotland. In January of 1991 Malea and her family were transferred to Salt lake City, Utah where her dad worked at Hercules Incorporated for the US Navy. In July 1993, her dad was transferred to Bremerton, Washington were they have resided for the last 12 years.

Malea has attended school at Woodlands Elementary, Star of the Sea Catholic school, Mt. View Middle school, Bremerton Jr. high, the freshman academy, and is now a sophomore at Bremerton High school. She has always loved school and maintains a 3.5 G.P.A. Malea’s favorite classes in school are usually those involving English, World History, or Biology.

Among the many activities and clubs Malea has enjoyed are: Honor Society secretary where she planned community service projects for the club, Freshman Liaison for the BHS yearbook in charge of getting pictures of freshman sports and other activities, and making the freshman ‘spreads’ for the yearbook. She has been involved in both the Leo and Key community service clubs, and enjoys volunteering in the first grade classrooms every week at Kitsap Lake Elementary.

Over the course of her life, Malea has traveled to many unique places such as Tunisia, Africa, England, Scotland, Canada, and 42 of the 50 States. She intends to visit all of them by the time she is twenty-five. In February of 2006, Malea will be traveling to Olympia, Washington to be a page at the House of Representatives and will have the opportunity to meet Representative Sherry Appleton, her sponsor during her stay in Olympia.

Malea’s plans for the near future include a one-week summer cruise Alaska with her family and hopes to talk her parents into letting her go ice picking. Next school year when Malea is a junior (2006-2007), she is going to be studying abroad for the whole year in Germany. She is looking forward to this once in a lifetime opportunity to experience a different way of life. Malea plans to leave around the first two weeks of August’06. She hopes to be able to travel all over to Germany and to get to know the people. Her major goal while in Germany is to become fluent in German and to learn a lot about the German culture.

Jenny Devery, Jenny was our outbound "short-term" exchange student to Germany, summer 2006-2007.

I am a Soph (now Junior) at Bremerton High School and an outbound student for the short term exchange program. I am interested in going to Germany because I am currently taking German and I am interested in German culture. Because I am school oriented my class schedule is very challenging. It includes Honors Biology, German, Honors English, and Advanced Placement World History; and I hold a 3.78 grade point average. I am also a member of both Key and Leo clubs.

My goal is to go to the University of Washington and pursue a career in the medical field. My hobbies include volunteering, theatre and activities such as swimming, shopping, and running. I enjoy being on stage and I have participated in the last two spring musicals. I devoted three days a week for seven months learning my lines and choreography including dance and acting stance. I plan to dedicate at least 30 hours to both volunteer organizations Key club and Leo club. Last year I achieved volunteering 30 hours for Honors Society.

We are very proud of our students.
